We're really excited to have the incredible vocalist Kenny Washington joining us this coming Sunday at Doc's Lab.  We're going to have some brand new arrangements featuring him to unveil at the gig.  Also, we have a couple of special guests subbing in the band: trombonist/bandleader Adam Theis (we'll do one of his big band charts) and pianist Adam Shulman.  And to top it off, the El Cerrito HS Jazz Combo, fresh off their award-winning performance at the Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival, will be opening up the evening for us at 6pm.  The ESO goes on at 6:45pm.  We hope to see you there!

We've added a live recording of one of our favorite tunes- the wild and wooly "Jungle Rumble", recorded live at Doc's Lab by Mark Rosenberg.  It's a free download which you can get from our music page, and you can get the whole concert (6 tunes) if you pledge $10 to our kickstarter project.

Trumpeter/composer/bandleader/musical-force-to-be-reckoned with Darren Johnston leads the band this coming Sunday, March 29th.  As usual, the concert is free!   

Baritone saxophonist and composer and arranger Charlie Gurke leads the band this Sunday, which also includes heavy hitter super subs Dann Zinn, Chuck MacKinnon, Ian Carey, Teddy Raven, Steven Blum, Ken Yee, Travis Sullivan, Niel Levonious and the inimitable Jeff Marrs on drums!

Our regular gig at Doc's Lab this Sunday will also be our launch party for our kickstarter project to raise $8500 to put out our first CD on the Origin record label!  Come by and check out the band and find out how you can support us and get all types of cool rewards, from digital downloads of the album all the way to being an executive producer of the record and hiring the band for a live gig.

We'll be playing new music by Erik Jekabson, Matt Zebley, Mike Zilber and Charlie Gurke (perhaps even more!) this Sunday.  Come check it out as the band continues to expand its repertoire.

The band is going to play a bunch of pianist Colin Hogan's arrangements and compositions this Sunday!  He won't be able to continue with the band's Sunday night residency because of his busy schedule, so we're going to send him off in a blaze of glory. (Grant Levin will be taking over the piano chair starting next week)

We're playing new music this Sunday at Doc's Lab. During our second set (roughly 8-9pm) we'll play compositions by trumpeter Ian Carey, a regular sub in the band (who also plays a great solo on our new CD), pianist Alex Conde (another regular sub in the band) and pianist Matt Wong, an incredibly talented musician who's still in high school.  We start at 6:30pm and hope to see you there!

We're playing a Mardi Gras show this Sunday at Doc's Lab!  We'll be playing our arrangements of some Crescent City classics as well as our own brand of party tunes.  We hope to see you there!
